Rockstar Games on July 7th announced its upcoming summer update. The announcement talks about upcoming updates for GTA and RD2 and their multiplayer online versions. But amongst the list of new updates coming our way, Rockstar has mentioned some changes coming to GTA Online, and the studio is implementing one of the biggest quality of life changes as suggested by the GTA Online community for ages–Rockstar is now “reducing the effectiveness of homing missiles and countermeasures on the Oppressor Mk II.”

If you have played GTA Online, there is a 100% chance that some 14-year-old griefer would have killed you using the overpowered Oppressor MK 11, without provocation, just because he could. Well, Rockstar had implemented some new vehicles with anti-lock-on features in the recent Contract update. However, Oppressor MK 11 trolls and griefers have always been a problem in the game.

While there are vehicles in the game that can survive the full 20 missiles from Oppressor MK 11, like the Nightshark or insurgent or even the MOC, however, with so many exotic cars in the game, it really does not make sense roaming around in Los Santos in an armored vehicle all the time because of Oppressor MK II griefers.

Oppressor MK II is not a bad vehicle for sale missions or even the preps for Cayo Perico heist, as the MK 11 is fast and spawns right next to you wherever you are. However, it can hold 20 homing missiles and they can easily lock on to other players’ vehicles with high accuracy. This in turn makes killing players, destroying cargo, or just plain griefing very easy, ruining other players' in-game experience.

Other updates

Rockstar plans to introduce an easier way to access snacks and armor in GTA Online, for people who take their game seriously this is big. Going through multiple menus and clicks just to get the armor in tricky situations is just too much. We are hoping Rockstar will add a shortcut for snacks and armor.

Among other things, now sell missions can be launched in invite-only sessions, allowing players to grind peacefully. Rockstar also plans to increase GTA$ payouts throughout the game regardless of missions again helping in grinding. Encouraging co-op play, payouts for Bodyguards, Associates, and MC members will see an increase.
