This ACNH Gulliver guide explains everything you need to know about this sleepy sea caption including how to wake up Gulliver, find the communicator part locations, and enjoy the souvenir rewards waiting for you in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Gulliver is also the key to getting one of the Golden Tools.

How to Wake Gulliver

Gulliver appears randomly so keep an eye out for him. He'll always be sleeping on the beach. Once he washes up on your island, talk to Gulliver repeatedly until he stirs and wakes up. It may take a few times but just stay persistent.

Gulliver's Missing Communicator Part Locations

Gulliver's missing some communicator parts that he desperately needs to get back to his crew. He'll ask you to find them for him and will give you a present as a thank you!

Look for the water spouts in the sand where you'd normally find manila clams. Dig there to find the communicator parts!

Tip: Walk slowly on the beach because the spouts appear and disappear. You may need to loop around a few times to find them all.

Reward for Helping Gulliver (Souvenirs)

You'll be rewarded for helping Gulliver! He'll send you some cool souvenirs from his travels such as various head wear or furniture from across the world.

NOTE: If you collect Gulliver's Communicator Parts, but do not give them to him before the next day, they will instead turn into Rusted Parts - unusable to help Gulliver rebuild his phone the next time you meet, but they can be used in specific DIY crafting recipes that you may randomly find! This includes the massive Robot sold at the NookStop, which requires a whopping 30 rusted parts!

Pirate Gulliver (Gullivarr)

When you buy the Wet Suit, sometimes Pirate Gulliver, or Gullivarr as he likes to be called, will wash up on shore. Regardless of his new attire, he still needs help contacting his crew.

But Gullivarr won't have his Communicator broken--instead, it'll be missing completely in the ocean! You'll have to dive around the waters surrounding your island for a small shadow that doesn't move a lot to find it and return the Communicator to him.

As compared to Gulliver, Gullivarr will give you pirate-themed items as a reward.

If you don't want Gullivarr's rewards, you can keep the communicator for yourself, then break it down for five Rusted Parts!

Gulliver and the Golden Shovel

You will need to successfully help Gulliver a total of 30 times before you will receive the DIY recipe in the mail. It is worth noting, that if you are in to Time Traveling, it is rumored that Gulliver will wash up on your shore every 10 days but in our experience this hasn't been the case. If you're dead set on finding Gulliver through Time Travel take it one day at a time.
