Since that link tells you that up until 1922 in Norway, surnames were created by taking the name of the father and adding either “son” for a boy or “dotter” for a girl as a suffix depending on the gender of the child. Since Anna and Elsa are both female, we know their last names end in “dotter.”

If only we knew the King’s name, right?

Well, we do.

On the gravestones, the names of the king and queen are printed in runes. When translated , the names come out to be “Iðunn” (Idunn) and “Agðar” (Agdar) (see for yourself). A quick search turns up Iðunn as a female name (again, see for yourself), leaving Agðar as the king’s name.

From this, we can create Elsa and Anna’s surnames by the patronymic method described in the first link. Their full names should literally translate to “Elsa, daughter of Agðar” and “Anna, daughter of Agðar.” To create this patronym, all you have to do is add “(s)dotter” to the end of the father’s name, Agðar, leaving Anna and Elsa with the last name Agðarsdotter.
