”How do you keep your color bright? First of all, when you put the color on you’re going to want to leave it on for a long time… and I mean like you can leave it on for 5 hours. Arctic Fox has added conditioner in it, and it actually works as a conditioning treatment while it’s coloring your hair and it’s not damaging at all.

So put a shower cap on, do your thing, go about your daily life, not in public if you’re too embarrassed!

Leave it on for a long time and when you wash it out don’t use shampoo just rinse it out with conditioner, and you want to use cold water. I wash my hair in the sink and I use freezing cold water as cold as I can get it. It keeps the cuticle closed and the color will stay in a little better

Also the shampoo that you use is very very important. If you use a shampoo with sulfate in it, that’s basically like a clarifying shampoo; it’s going to strip your hair. It’s trying to strip your hair of the grease and things, and dirt, whatever is on your hair. And it will also pull off the color. So that’s one thing.

And also, take your hair color and take like a squeeze of it and put it in your shampoo and your conditioner, and when you’re shampooing and conditioning your hair, this will basically revive your color a little bit.

And also, dry shampoo is like my best friend. I wash my hair like once a week and when it gets greasy I just use dry shampoo. And it holds up for a lot longer.

Tips for dying dark hair?

You can use a lightener, you don’t have to use a bleach. You can always go to the store and buy some extensions that are blonde, tape in extensions or a clip-in piece, whatever, and color that. If you’re trying to go pastel and your hair is black, you’re gonna have to bleach the shit out of it there is just no way around that. So, have a professional do it and use a lot of Olaplex.

How do you prevent staining?

“So this is what my gloves look like, so friggin cool. And yeah, I totally have a trashbag fastened around my neck right now.”

Hair color typically stains everything you love, everything you don’t love, everything between. Like, it is a big mess. And that’s one of the things about Arctic Fox, too, it smears less and stains less. So that’s one thing about Arctic Fox it doesn’t stain as much. But if you get it on your hands, that’s just a bad idea. You want to wear gloves.

So when you’re coloring your hair, you want to wear gloves. If you’re worried about it getting on your hairline, you’re going to want to use coconut oil or something and put that around the hairline. Or Vaseline, to prevent it from staining your skin. But for the most part, gloves. Those are key. Gotta wear gloves. If you do happen to get it on your hands or on your skin, you can get it off with rubbing alcohol, like, super easily.”
