Pluto the big, goofy dog, of Disney fame, is how old? You guessed right if you said 85 years old. Walt Disney Productions created Pluto the Pup as Mickey Mouse’s pet dog in 1930.

If you have a pet at home, you know that animals communicate most often through their expressions, just like Pluto! ”Pluto's Dinosaur Romp,” as seen in the DVD Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Around the Clubhouse World, is one of many cartoons featuring Pluto. Pluto’s short films were even nominated for Academy Awards.

You might also like to try your hand at Cartooning, just as Walt Disney and his team of animators did to create Pluto and his friends.

All this talk of animation has me dreaming about what to be when I grow up. I imagine someone asking...So You Want to Work in Animation & Special Effects?

I bet you can think of other famous pups in films and books too!  Did someone say Clifford?

If all this talk of dogs has you wagging your tail and begging for more dogs in books and movies then you might just want to take a walk to your library and check out these endearing pooches.
