As Stardew Valley's doctor, Harvey is always making sure that the residents of Pelican Town remain happy and healthy. He's the one who patches you up when you pass out in the Mines - and he's also one of the six bachelors you can choose to marry! If your temperature rises around this doctor and a fever isn't the reason, then this guide to Harvey's friendship and romance is perfect for you.

Harvey Basics

Harvey both lives and works in his Clinic in Pelican Town. He has no family in town, but generally get along well with everyone due to his role as the town doctor. Maru works for him as a nurse, and the two are friends. His birthday is Winter 14.

Harvey Schedule

Harvey generally spends the morning working in his Clinic. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he works a full day in the Clinic, giving checkups to various villagers. On these days, as well as rainy days, he spends the rest of the day in his room behind the Clinic.

When Harvey is free in the afternoon, he walks around the park next to the town square or the area just outside the Community Center. On Fridays, he goes shopping at Pierre's General Store. On Saturdays, he visits the Museum.

Harvey attends every festival. Once the Ginger Island Resort is open, he can visit it on any day other than Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Harvey Quests

Harvey is not involved in any Story Quests or plot-related Quests. He is one of the characters who can ask for items on the Help Wanted board outside of Pierre's General Store.

Harvey Gift Guide

Harvey's a fan of the finer things in life, and also, like many other hardworking doctors, he adores his coffee. He's rather picky about the Cooked Meals he likes, however.

Loves

To increase your relationship with Harvey, these are the best items to give him.

Note that Harvey is one of the few characters who Likes most common foraged items, so they make great gifts to give him, especially starting out when you don't have much money.

Harvey Movie Theater

Harvey is not much of a movie guy, although he Loves The Miracle at Coldstar Ranch and The Zuzu City Express. He Hates Natural Wonders, The Brave Little Sapling, and Wumbus.

Fitting Harvey's fondness for healthy foods, his Loved Concessions are Apple Slices, Jasmine Tea, and Stardrop Sorbet.

Harvey Heart Events

Harvey has several Heart Events available to experience when you raise your Friendship with him. As one of the game's marriage options, he has an optional 10-Heart event if dated and a 14-Heart event if married.

Harvey - 2 Hearts

Enter Evelyn and George's house at any time that George is there. Harvey is arguing with George and trying to get the older man to make healthier life choices. Say "George should follow Dr. Harvey's advice" to earn 40 Friendship Points with Harvey.

Harvey - 4 Hearts

Enter the clinic any time Harvey is present. He will remind you that it is time for your annual checkup. Say "I'm a little nervous" or "I'm out of breath" to earn 40 Friendship Points with Harvey.

Harvey - 6 Hearts

Enter Pierre's General Store between 11AM and 3PM. Harvey is participating in an aerobics session with the women of Pelican Town, and asks you to keep it a secret. Say "I won't tell" to earn 20 Friendship Points with Harvey.

Harvey - 8 Hearts

Enter the clinic any time Harvey is present. You will learn about his hobby of contacting pilots on the radio. None of your answers have any positive or negative effects on friendship.

Harvey - 10 Hearts (optional)

Harvey's 10-Heart event is available ONLY if you have given him a Bouquet and asked him to date you. It is not required to reach Perfection unless you choose him as your love interest.

He will send you a letter in the mail. Once you have received the letter, head to the Railroad Tracks between 9AM and 5PM. Harvey will invite you on a hot-air balloon ride and the two of you will share a midair kiss.

Harvey - 14 Hearts (optional)

If you marry Harvey, you can access this scene once you have upgraded your farm house at least twice. Enter the farm house between 8PM and 12AM to find that Harvey has cooked a romantic dinner for the two of you.

Harvey Marriage

You can marry Harvey by giving him a Mermaid's Pendant after reaching 10 Hearts. After marriage, Harvey will move into the farmhouse. His private room has his radio equipment in it, and he plants a garden in the nook behind the farmhouse.

Unlike most other love interests, Harvey keeps his job after marriage. He continues to work at the clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and he takes a walk outside the Community Center on Monday afternoons.

Harvey may decide to make you Complete Breakfast in the morning. He can also cook dinner on rainy nights. His potential dinner options are Carp Surprise, Crispy Bass, Fried Eel, Salmon Dinner, and Vegetable Medley. Harvey does not give you a New Year's gift.
