Make a heart tie dye design. In just a few easy steps you’ll be able to make this fun and festive heart tie dye pattern. It’s the perfect personalized Valentine’s Day shirt design or to wear any day!

Making tie dye shirts is such a fun way to celebrate different holidays (like I did with my Halloween shirts and star tie dye shirt for 4th of July). I made this one for Valentine’s Day since the heart shape worked perfectly for the holiday! I even took it a step further and made it a rainbow pattern! You can also make a pastel version as well.

And even though I made the heart on a tie dye tank top, you can choose any item of clothing you’d like such as regular t-shirts, a sweatshirt, shorts, or even socks!

I also made a template to make it super easy to make this tie dye design.

Materials to Make the Heart Tie Dye Tank Top

• White Cotton Tank Top (this is similar to the one I used) – you could also make it on a cotton t-shirt such as these
• Washable Markers (this is the set I like)
• Zip Ties or Rubber bands (these are the ones I have)
• Tie Dye Kit (Jacquard – use code ABCRAFTY for 20% off!) – I always recommend using kits with soda ash, but you can also use the one step kits (Amazon). Be sure to get a kit that includes black tie dye – all of the ones I’ve linked to here do!
• Soda Ash (in case your kit doesn’t have it, you can get it from Jacquard for 20% off with code ABCRAFTY)
• Rubber Gloves
• Plastic Wrap
• Paper Towels
