Hearthstone: Forged In The Barrens Release Date, Cards List And More

Blizzard Entertainment’s online card game Hearthstone announced a new expansion pack, named Hearthstone: Forged in the Barrens. The expansion pack promises major developments and upgrades, as well as 135 new cards! Here’s what you need to know:

What is Hearthstone?

Hearthstone is a collectible card game that’s free to play and involves players battling it out online against other players in a Magic The Gathering-esque fashion. However, unlike MTG, Hearthstone’s was designed to be digital. Blizzard’s amazing marketing strategy has led Hearthstone to be a favourite of the online gaming community, with popular streamers streaming several hours of gameplay across platforms like Twitch. The turn based game has had a huge impact on online gaming community with several tournaments held with prizes that reach upto $500,000!

Heartstone is based on the extensive lore of Blizzard’s previous project, Warcraft. Players go into duels with their decks which they can choose from their very own library. This arsenal can be upgraded using expansion packs and winning battles with other players among other things.

Hearthstone: Forged in the barrens

Blizzard Entertainment announced a new expansion pack, Hearthstone: Forged in the barrens on February 19 during BlizzCon’s opening ceremonies. Blizzard also released a cinematic trailer of the same on their YouTube channel:

The expansion pack will reportedly contain 135 new additions, of which 12 have been teased to keep avid fans on their toes and to encourage pre-orders. The 12 cards that have been revealed are:

The cards were introduced by a video on Hearthstone’s official YouTube channel

Among other things have been revealed include new keyword: Frenzy. Frenzy will allow minions to unleash powerful damage after surviving the initial attack.

Though nothing is known regarding the definite date of it’s release, the company has begun pre-registration for their pack, with 2 provisions of buying them.
