What are the symptoms of hemorrhoids that can disrupt sleep? There are several symptoms of hemorrhoids that can affect one’s sleep. These include bleeding, itching, and pain.

The veins in the rectal area can dilate when subjected to high pressure, such as in cases of pregnancy or straining during a bowel movement. When this goes on constantly, the veins could easily get damaged even with just a bowel movement and bleeding.

The itching from hemorrhoids can be brought about by several causes. This can occur as a result of the skin-irritating mucus produced by the lining of the hemorrhoids or a result of one’s vigorous cleaning in the area.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids (hemorrhoids with no blood flow due to blood clots) can be tender and painful. When these hemorrhoids burst, they can also cause bleeding.
