Here's How Britney Spears Felt About Being Replaced By Camila Cabello On Pitbull's Song "Hey Ma"

For the past couple of weeks, Camila Cabello has been using her Instagram to relentlessly tease snippets of "Hey Ma," her infectious new track with Pitbull and J Balvin.

The solo billing marks a major career moment for the former Fifth Harmony member. After all, the song is set to be featured in the new Fast and Furious movie hitting theaters next month. Believe it nor not, though, Camila wasn't originally meant to sing on "Hey Ma" at all.

Turns out, she came to the production process late by replacing a much bigger celeb: BRITNEY SPEARS, AKA the Princess of Pop!

How did a burgeoning solo artist get recruited as a sub for one of the biggest names in pop?

"Funny story behind that," Pitfall recounted in an interview with Radio.com. "At first, it was me and Romeo Santos; Britney Spears was on the record."

Apparently, when the Fast and Furious team heard the rough track, they loved it for the movie — but had their own ideas about who the featured performers should be. "They brought on board J Balvin and Camila Cabello," Pitbull continued. "So it's been an interesting journey."

It's not clear why Fast and Furious' producers decided to bring in a new vocal duo, but who cares?! Camila's voice is going to be featured in one of the biggest movies of the year!

Pitbull added that Brit — always an icon — was cool about the switch.

"It was an honor to be able to work with Britney," the rapper gushed. "She was a great sport. She's been in the business for years. She said, 'Don't even worry about that. We'll use [our music] for the remix, or we'll do another record together.'"

No word yet from Romeo Santos on how he feels about being replaced by J Balvin. ...
