Meandering your grocery store's iced coffee aisle can be pretty intimidating with the plethora of options — regular iced coffee, iced coffee with milk, cold brew, and don't even get us started on the different flavors. Sometimes, it's easier and more economical to use the coffee beans that are probably already sitting in the back of your cupboard at home.

If you do make hot coffee, there are a few ways to convert your hot coffee supply into iced coffee, and whether you use beans, grounds, or k-cups, they all boil down to one method: lots of ice. First things first, brew your coffee extra strong by using the same amount of grounds but half the amount of water. Pour the hot coffee over a cup that's filled with lots and lots of ice. You'll notice a few iced cubes starting to melt which will help dilute and bring it to room temperature. After a few minutes and when there's ice floating, not melting, transfer into a new cup filled with ice. Add creamer and sugar if desired. Stir, sip, and enjoy!

If you like your iced coffee extra cold, repeat those steps then pour the iced coffee along with ice into a shaker before adding creamer and sugar. Shake for several seconds. Or, leave it in the freezer for an additional few minutes until it's at a cool enough temperature.
