Apex Legends may be free to play, but investing in some items can help bolster the game experience. Legend skins, unique weapons, Apex Packs, and other items cost money, but they add to the fun. But Heirloom items are the most coveted skin in Apex Legends due to the scarcity of their drops. 

Players spend months grinding the games to unlock an Apex Pack that may bring glad tidings but there is less than a 1% probability of Heirloom Shards dropping. Here’s how players can get the Heirloom Shards in Apex Legends. 

How do you get the Heirloom Shards in Apex Legends?  

There are several ways to get Heirloom Shards, but simply playing the game is the most popular one.

EA introduced an update, which ensured that a player could not open more than 500 Apex Packs without receiving shards. A dedicated Apex Legends player should be able to get their hands on the rare item by just playing. Getting to level 500 earns 198 packs. 302 more guarantees Heirloom Shards. It’s worth noting that waiting till 500 boxes isn’t a condition. Players could hypothetically get them in just one Apex Pack opening.

Worth noting is that once a player owns all of the Heirloom Sets and Prestige Skins, the player will not be eligible for this bonus until more Heirloom Sets or Prestige Skins are added to the game.

Another way to get these rare items is through the battle pass. An Apex Legends battle pass has 100 tiers of unlockable content, which refreshes every season. Players can boost their chances of getting a drop through the seasonal pass. 

Finally, those who can afford it can buy these items from the game. Players can purchase the Apex Packs from the store but, it can cost an arm and a leg. Apex Legends Heirlooms cost 150 Heirloom Shards to craft. Getting that many Heirloom Shards together is pretty impossible considering the low drop rate. 

Unfortunately, these are the only ways to get these items. However, their rarity makes them stand out in Apex Legends.
