Updated on September 22, 2022: As of this summer, Josh Goldstein and Shannon St. Clair are no longer together. They released a joint statement on Instagram (that has since been taken down) explaining their decision. Josh is working to start his own business in Florida, while Shannon has moved to the Bay Area to pursue her passion in skin care by taking classes to become an esthetician. While there doesn't seem to be any hard feelings, the two have admitted that the split has been hard on both of them.

Why Did Josh Goldstein Leave Love Island?

Season 3 of Love Island aired in the summer of 2021. Olivia Kaiser and Korey Gandy won the season and according to AZ Central, they were each given $50,000. They began dating on the 23rd day.

Josh Goldstein left Love Island because his sister passed away, and it was a really sad scene.

According to Us Weekly, Josh Goldstein and his girlfriend Shannon St. Clair knew that it was time to leave the show when his 24-year-old sister died.

Josh said in the episode, “I just want to tell you guys that me and Shannon are going home today. Unfortunately, my sister passed away last night. … I just got word.” Josh said more about his sister and explained how much he cared about her, which was heartbreaking to hear.

Josh said, “She was an unbelievable person. She was the reason I’m here, the reason I found Shannon and met all you guys. It’s unexpected, but she lived an unbelievable life. I just need to be home with my family right now to support them. I just want to let you guys know that I’m so grateful to have met all of you, consider you all my best friends. We’re going to see each other again. This isn’t it.”

What Is Josh Goldstein Doing Now?

Since leaving Love Island, Josh Goldstein continued his relationship with co-star Shannon St. Clair through this year, and they are both very involved in the fitness world.

Josh works with Solin Fitness and offers up exercise programs that people can sign up for. Josh and Shannon also worked together on a 4-day HIIT challenge that Josh shared with his Instagram followers in October 2021.

Josh offers a 4-Week Fat Loss And Sculpt Program, and he also has a New Year's Ab Challenge.

Josh wrote in one of his Instagram posts that he was getting a positive response to his programs.

Josh Goldstein talked about Shannon St. Clair and how wonderful she has been since his sister passed away.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Josh said "Shannon's support has been unbelievable," and explained that Shannon went home with him to offer compassion and support for his family. Fans saw their bond start when Josh asked Shannon if she would be his girlfriend while they went zip-lining in one episode that aired in August 2021.

Us Weekly reported that Josh's sister Lindsey loved watching Love Island, and they believe that Lindsey is why they became a couple and why they were able to find each other. Shannon said, “She’s the reason why we are together and where we are right now. She’s the one who signed Josh up for the show we always feel that everything happens for a reason, and we owe that all to Lindsey.”

Josh explained that he felt connected to his late sister during the holiday: he wrote in his Instagram caption, "Don’t worry sis, I’m keeping the Thanksgiving tradition going. Whiskey, fires, music, and good vibes." Josh continued, "I’m super thankful to have the people in my life that I do. Thankful for everyone who has followed me and supported me throughout my journey. The last few months of my life have been a whirlwind of emotions but I’m blessed to surround myself with the best of people."
