Support NIA High School Graduation Requirements

NIA High School graduation program follows the graduation requirements of the state of Tennessee. Students must complete the following requirements prior to graduation:

1. Earn 22 credits

Subject	Required Number of Credits	Notes
Math	4 credits	Including Algebra I, II, Geometry, and a fourth higher level math course (Students must be enrolled in a mathematics course each school year.)
English	4 credits
Science	3 credits	Including Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and a third lab course
Social Studies	3 credits	Including U.S. History and Geography, World History and Geography, U.S. Government and Civics, and Economics
World Language	2 credits
Fine Arts	1 credits
Physical Education	1.5 credits
Personal Finance	0.5 credit
Elective Focus	3 credits	Consisting of Math and Science, Career and Technical Education, Fine Arts, Humanities, Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB)

 

2. Take the required end of course exams (EOC)

3. Take the ACT or SAT in the 11th grade

4. Have satisfactory records of attendance and conduct

5. Complete a United States civics test

6. Perform 50 hours of community service by January of their senior year

While preparation for college is central, the mission of the High School is to develop thoughtful citizens who are confident, responsible, and respectful of themselves and others.
