National Post writer Joe O’Connor and photographer Aaron Lynett witnessed the return of Petty Officer Second Class Douglas Craig Blake to Canadian soil. Petty Officer Blake was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan earlier in the week. Dennis is behind the wheel of a tired-looking red pickup truck, nudging his way across the Cranberry Road Bridge before coming to a stop in his self-appointed parking spot.
