Java is a high-level, class-based, object-oriented programming language that is designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. Java was developed by James Gosling, one of the engineers of Sun Microsystems, and is an open-source object-oriented programming language, which was also released by Sun Microsystems on May 23, 1995. Java 1.2 was released by making major changes in Java 1.0, which has limited features, and it is called Platform 2. Sun Microsystems was later acquired by Oracle.
Java has emerged as a result of the need to work independently from the platform. In the past, a program did not run on any other operating system other than the operating system it was written for. Thanks to the JVM, which will be seen in the next blog posts, the programs written in Java are now able to work on any operating system.
The Java language has borrowed most of its features from the C and C ++ languages. It has very close to the C ++ programming language in the object-oriented programming part. As a syntax, it has a very similar syntax to the C language. Those who know the C language will have no difficulty understanding everything up to the object-oriented programming part of Java.
The symbol of Java is a coffee cup as it is known. When this language was first developed, its name was designated Oak. But when it was noticed that there was another language with this name, the Java developers group, who was in a coffee shop at that time, gave the name Java, inspired by the coffee brand there.
