Plainfield Township Youth Excellence Scholarship
Each fiscal year, Plainfield Township offers various scholarships up to $1,000 each. Applications are accepted January 1st through March 1st each year. Visit the Scholarship Application Page for more information and to apply.
A message from the Supervisor
It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to Plainfield Township.
For 171 years, Plainfield Township has served the township residents with services and programs such as general assistance, senior and youth services, and community programs.
Plainfield Township operates a Senior Shuttle bus, a cemetery, assesses property through the Township Assessor’s office and, has partnered with 501 (c) (3) charities to expand services to our residents. The Plainfield Township Highway Department maintains 44 miles of roads and three bridges.
In 1850, the U.S. Census data showed the population of Plainfield Township at 1,092 residents. Today, an estimated population in the Township is 81,778 and an assessed property value of $2,123,997,087.00.
From our inception to today, our main objective is still the same; to serve the residents.
As we move forward into a new chapter for Plainfield Township, I look forward to being actively involved in the community to serve the needs of our Township. My staff and I are committed to the needs of all our community in an inclusive environment.

Verify Residency Within Plainfield Township And/Or Will County
Established in 1850, Plainfield Township government serves the 80,000 residents in the Illinois villages of Plainfield, Joliet, Romeoville and Crest Hill. Plainfield Township’s boundaries run to the North by 135th Street, to the South by Theodore Street, to the East by Gaylord Road and to the West by County Line Road.

About The Plainfield Township
Established in 1850, Plainfield Township is proud of its long-standing tradition of providing excellent services to its residents. The nine elected officials that represent the township and its various departments, as well as the township administrative and support staff, are committed to ensuring that residents are well-served at the township level of government.
