nfortunately all solutions provided by a Google search seem not to work for me. 😟

Whats the issue: I cannot figure out how to change the profile picture shown when my Macbook Pro (OS: 10.11 - El Capitan) is on AirDrop.

The same problem applies to my work's Macbook Air (same OS) AND my iPhone (latest OSX version as well).

Solutions that havent worked:

- changing my iCloud profile picture

- changing my Apple ID profile picture

- changing the icon on Settings > Users

- changing the icon in my Contacts > My Card

The profile picture is determined by the photo associated with the recipient in the sender's device.

If you are AirDropping from John's Mac to Mary's iPhone, for example, Mary's Contacts photo on John's Mac will be displayed.

You still couldn't change it?

I tried Open System Preferences on Mac > User & Groups > Contacts Card > (Click Edit on Profile Picture) > Done!

That doesn't seem to change anything.

iPhone's AirDrop connection shows my Mac as an icon from ages ago that I had selected as my profile pic for the Mac acct: Systems Preferences > Users & Groups > Current User. I've since changed that, but still no effect on the AirDrop icon.

Strangely it seems to work for the iPhones image in AirDrop on the Mac.

Sigh.
