What is a credit card security code (CVV)?

Customers using VISA, MasterCard, JCB, Discover or Diners Club

The security code (CVV) is a three-digit number on the back of the credit card.

Customers using American Express

The security code (CVV) is a four-digit number that is listed on the surface of the credit card to the upper right corner of the card number.
