Washing dreadlocks
Dreadlocks are the first thing that anyone would notice. So especially for all the men with dreadlocks, wash your hair at least once every week for best results. Washing it frequently would rid your scalp of all the natural oil.
Shampooing dreadlocks
One of the key requisites for those who are shampooing their dreadlocks is to wet hair first with warm water (make sure it's lukewarm and not hot). After this, begins the main task, shampooing your dreadlocks.
Take a small amount of shampoo (even better if you mix it in water in a small bowl) and then work on it from the scalp. Let it sit on your hair for 2-3 minutes after you have covered all the dreadlocks.

Rinsing dreadlocks
Tilt your hair sideways so that all the extra water falls out of your locks and wash it with water thoroughly. Take your dreadlocks, part-by-part and rinse. When done, use a dry towel and wrap it around your hair. Once done, take parts of your hair, especially the roots and soak in the extra water with the towel.
Keeping dreadlocks healthy
To keep your dreadlocks healthy, we recommend you carry a spray-on moisturiser or serum to manage your dreadlocks when it gets too unruly. It is also recommended that you sleep in a satin pillowcase or wrap your hair using a satin cloth while going off to sleep.

Oiling dreadlocks
It might seem like a task, but it is extremely important that you take care of your dreadlocks by oiling them at least once a month. Start from the scalp and then the roots and massage it slowly. Once you have it covered, then touch your dreadlocks and oil it as well.
Removing dreadlocks
Visit your hairstylist and tell him/her what needs to be done. You can always go for a short trim in case your hair gets too unruly or unmanageable.
All said and done, it is important that you do not go easy on your beautiful dreadlocks. For all the men, try following all of these steps for a near-breezy experience in maintaining dreadlocks.
