How can you prevent stretch marks while losing weight?
Recently, actress Zareen Khan shared a photo of herself on Instagram. People started body shaming her for her abdominal stretch marks. She responded by saying, "So for people who are very curious to know about what is wrong with my stomach... This is the natural stomach of a person who has lost more than 50 kg of weight. This is how it looks it is not photoshopped or surgically corrected."
The stretch marks that come along with quick weight loss are totally undesirable. A person on quora posted a query, “Why do you get stretch marks when you lose weight?”, to which a Quora user responded, “Some people are more prone to stretch marks than others. When you lose or gain weight, when you exercise and lose inches and build muscles, the skin changes and loses elasticity. Especially if you do not pay attention to improving circulation in your skin.”

How to deal with stretch marks
These stretch marks can get especially embarrassing for men and women when they are on spots that are visible to others. They have a different texture than our regular skin and look like discoloured streaks on our skin.
The most common locations for these stretch marks are breasts, abdomen, thighs, hips, and buttocks.
3/6
Eat healthy and clean foods
First and foremost, eat nutritious and clean foods that are rich in zinc, Vitamin C as well as protein. The reason you need to focus on these nutrients are because they help in collagen production. Collagen is a protein that gives our skin its elasticity. So the more collagen your skin produces, the better it will fight against preventing the appearance of stretch marks.

Drink lots of water
When you are physically active, you should anyway be drinking lots of water. It is the best thing that you can do for your skin, as well as overall health. Good intake of water works on the health of your skin.

Exercise as well as stretch
If you are losing weight just by monitoring your diet, it is advisable to exercise and stretch! Leading a healthy lifestyle, even if for 15-20 minutes a day, helps in improving circulation as well as skin elasticity. Not only that, it also tightens your skin and tones your muscles.
6/6
Moisturise your skin
Moisturise your skin regularly to avoid cracking as well as flaking. Our skin needs moisture to remain plump and hydrated, which will automatically make it difficult for the stretch marks to form.
