How did Knuckles get his spikes?

So how did Knuckles get his spikes on his hands? I don't think that was ever explained. I would like to read some interesting theories on how he got his spikes, because when you look at other echidnas, they don't have spikes on their hands. Interesting.LikeDislike

They got it off of the fact that Echidnas are naturally spiny and have claws, probably inspired by this fact, the creators exaggerated it, and went with it.LikeDislike

Or maybe they're like muscles.Think about it, the others don't have it because they are lazy and don't work out.Tikal doesn't have it because... well, shes a girl, and girls don't fight in a tribe.Knuckles is super strong yet doesn't have muscles in his arms at all, thus the only conclusion is that he has all the muscles in his hand... and that... is those spikes.Seriously, if Knuckles' spikes were converted to Human Muscles, he'd look like this:LikeDislike

Whoever drew that Venom needs to expand his waist, takes away from the realism it could've had. Also, Knuckles has arm strength, they just don't define it because he would look abnormal.LikeDislike

They are his bones, just like we have bumps, on our hands, he has spikes instead. And besides, he has a lot of arm strength because he can lift his entire body weight by the support of only his knuckles in a wall. That takes some strength.LikeDislike

So?? Sonic Characters have bones. In Archies Sonic it was proven with X-Rays. That's just art. Nobody in gameplay has done that.LikeDislike

Yes, when they run, it's always bending like that. And I'm talking about the games, Archie is different. Sonic characters have no bones, they are made of a rbbery mush substance, admit it. :study: And for therecord, Archie is "just art" too. LikeDislike
