THE LEGACY of American rapper Nipsey Hussle has lived on for years following his tragic death.

Now, fans want to know more about his life and career, as well as his cause of death.

Who was rapper Nipsey Hussle?

Airmiess Joseph Asghedom, known professional as Nipsey Hussle, was a popular rapper who was born on August 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, California.

In 2005, he released his debut mixtape, Slauson Boy Vol 1, which eventually became the name of his record label.

Shortly after the release of his mixtape, his career started to soar, and he went on to release one studio album and 14 additional mixtapes before his death.

He also worked with the likes of DJ Khaled, John Legend, CeeLo Green, Roddy Ricch, and Rick Ross.

In August 2022, on what would have been his 37th birthday, his legacy continued after he was honoured posthumously with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

How did Nipsey Hussle die?

On March 31, 2019, it was announced that Nipsey had passed away at the age of 33.

His death shocked the world even more after it was revealed that he was murdered.

That day, he was shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles just hours after he wrote about having “strong enemies” on Twitter.

His funeral then took place on April 11, 2019, and was almost smeared by an apparent drive-by shooting.

Over three years later, a Los Angeles County jury convicted Eric Ronald Holder of first-degree murder in relation to Nipsey’s death

He was also convicted of attempted voluntary manslaughter, according to Reuters.

During the trial, Eric’s public defender, Aaron Jansen, did not argue that his client was innocent, instead, he argued that he did not deserve to be convicted of first-degree murder, citing that his crime was not premeditated, Reuters adds.

Eric had reportedly acted in “the heat of passion” after Nipsey told him rumours were circulating that he was “snitching” to police.

He is expected to be sentenced in September 2022.

Did Nipsey have children?

Nipsey and actress Lauren London began dating in 2013.

They welcomed their first child together on August 31, 2016.

Lauren has children from a previous relationship with fellow rapper Lil Wayne, while Nipsey also had a daughter from a previous relationship.

What was Nipsey’s net worth?

At the time of his death, Nipsey had a net worth of $8million (£6.1million).

Although Nipsey is known for his rapping, he also earned money outside of performing.

One of his income streams came from his work as an actor, with 10 acting credits to his name.

He also made money through his clothing business.

TMZ reported that the late rapper’s children, Emani and Kross, are expected to inherit $1million each when they are of age.
