How did art change in the Renaissance? Introduction: How did the Renaissance change art? The renaissance was a cultural rebirth that occurred in Europe from the 14th to the 16th century was called the Renaissance based on the rediscovery of the literature of Greece and Rome. The 14th century was a very important century for art. Artists in Italy started to paint and sketch 3D. They started to understand the proportions of things. They created new styles of linear and aerial perspective and pyramid structures. Famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Giotto illustrated art unlike the Middle Ages; they managed to showed emotions, feelings, and shades. They used more colors, brighter colors. In this investigation I’m going to investigate how the renaissance changed art. I’m going to answer my question using three sub-questions. How did Florence become the birthplace of the renaissance? Florence was one of the wealthiest areas in Italy during the Renaissance. (All of Italy actually was.) Florence had a great trade route; Florence was placed in a very good place. It had a great Geographic location. Florence had a very active junction of goods; Florence traded a lot with a large scale of different countries. Lots of artists and architects used mathematics and geometry to plan their work. They realized that all the objects in nature have a certain proportion, for example like in the shape of a leaf or the form of buildings. The discovered ways to make paintings look 3D!
