I’m registered for the SAT on the 5th, and I am no longer able to go. I changed all the schools I applied to test-optional, but I was told that I’d get a 0 if I just didn’t show up. Would it even matter since I’m not sending it to any schools? Would I be able to complete the Request to cancel scores, or is that only for people who took it— i will not be there during the test.

Hi, login to the college board portal with your credentials, go to your SAT registration, and either cancel there or you can re-register for another test date.

You will not get a 0 for not showing up. There is no reason to make a request to cancel scores since you will not be getting a score.

Cancellation: If you’re thinking about canceling your registration, you may be able to get a refund, but it might make more sense to change your test date instead.

Absence: If you're absent on test day, you don’t have to reregister—you can change your test date instead, which costs less than registering a second time. If you no longer feel safe taking the SAT or you don’t feel well on test day, please stay home. You will be able to transfer your registration to another test date at no charge through the end of 2020. If you would rather cancel your registration, you will be issued a full refund. Contact Customer Service by the Monday following test day to make this request.

Also, this test was free so I’m not worried about refunds. I’m a senior and I don’t plan on taking it another day. I can’t find where it says to cancel registration.

After you log in go to the My SAT section, and then look for the My Test Registrations section. Click on that, and there you can print your ticket, cancel your test or reschedule your test.

There is no option like that— perhaps because it’s in less than 24 hours. Is there anything wrong with just not showing up?
