You can change your GroupMe name by editing your profile. You can also change your nickname per chat, so you can have different nicknames in different chats.

To change your name in GroupMe:

1. Select your profile picture.

2. Tap the Edit profile button.

3. Tap Edit  .

4. Tap your Name, then enter your new name.

5. Tap Done  .

To change your nickname in a chat:

1. Go to the chat in which you want to change your nickname.

2. Tap the group avatar.

3. Tap Settings  .

4. Tap Edit your profile.

5. Tap in the Edit nickname field, then enter your new name.

6. Tap Save.

To change your name in GroupMe:

1. Select your profile picture.

2. Tap the Edit profile button.

3. Tap the Name field, then enter your new name.

4. Tap Done.

To change your nickname in a chat:

1. Go to the chat in which you want to change your name.

2. Tap the chat name at the top of the screen.   

   Note: On iPad, you can simply click Settings   at the top of the screen in a group chat. In a one-to-one-chat, you will still tap the chat name.

3. Tap Settings  .

4. Tap Edit your profile.

5. Tap Nickname, then enter your new name.

6. Tap Done.

7. Tap Save.

To change your name in GroupMe:

1. Sign in to your GroupMe account in a web browser.

2. Select your avatar (profile picture), then click the Edit button next to the name field.

3. Type the new name.

4. Select the check mark  .

To change your nickname in a chat:

1. Go to the chat in which you want to change your nickname.

2. Select the group name at the top of the screen.

3. Select Settings.

4. Select the Your Profile tab.

5. Select Edit in the Your Nickname field, then enter your new name.

6. Select the check mark  .
