How Do I Charge My Arlo Essential Wire-free Camera?

To charge the Arlo Essential Camera, Essential Spotlight Camera, or Essential XL Spotlight Camera indoors, use the included USB charging cable. To charge the camera outdoors, use the VMA3700 Essential Outdoor Charging Cable.

Note: The battery in the Arlo Essential Camera, Essential Spotlight Camera, and Essential XL Spotlight Camera cannot be removed.

Go to the Settings page for your Arlo camera to view the battery percentage:

1. Launch the Arlo Secure App.
2. Tap Devices.
3. Tap .The battery percentage is displayed.

USB Charging

The USB charging cable that came in the box with your camera is for indoor use only. You must dismount your camera and bring it indoors to charge it with the included charging cable. Connect the charging cable to a 5V, 2A power adapter. Power adapters less than 2A will take longer to properly charge the camera.

To charge the camera with the included indoor USB charging cable:

1. Remove your camera from the mount.Note: You do not need to unscrew the mount from the wall. You only need to unscrew the camera from the mount.
2. Bring the camera indoors.
3. Pull the flap at the bottom of the camera to reveal the USB charging port.
4. Plug the USB charging cable into the camera.

Note:The included charging cable is not meant for outdoor use. To charge your camera outdoors, you must use the VMA3700 Essential Outdoor Charging Cable.

Solar Panel Charging

Use the VMA3600 Essential Solar Panel or VMA7600 Universal Solar Panel to keep your battery charged with direct sunlight.
