How Do I Flatten My Mousepad? - Off Topic - Linus Tech Tips

I just bought a new mousepad off amazon and it has a curl on two of the sides. I've put in between a slab of wood and 20 pounds worth of stuff for a whole night yet it is still curled. The mousepad has a rubber bottom and on its description all it says is that it has a carbon resin surface. Thank you if you give me any advice

Turn it upside down; and roll it up. Should work

Maybe try more weight?  For longer?  While it's under the weight you could try using a hair dryer to heat up the mouse pad so it might be more receptive to losing the bends.  (Assuming you don't think the heat would damage the pad but I don't think it would.)

Or run it over with your car tire?  (Put a towel you don't mind risking damaging on top and bottom to keep the mouse pad clean.)

Warning: I've never tried that but it's the heaviest thing I can think of that most people would have to use.

I just spent a good 5 minutes or so thinking "How the hell does a mouse pad curl up" before I realised I'm using a hard surface mouse pad...

I just got a new mouse pad from amazon today and had the same problem. I put it upside down in the sun till it was nice and hot maybe an hour or so, then I put it on my desk with a few books on it to to cool off. Now its totally flat. If its made of any kind of rubber it will soften with heat and the shape will set in when it cools.
