Mustard algae is very fine and is a yellow (mustard-coloured) powder that is very volatile.

It is found at the bottom of pools or on pool walls and comes off easily when you scrub it with a brush (broom or robot), although this creates a cloud of algae…

The easiest way to destroy it once and for all as is follows:

  • Remove scale from the filter in order to get most of it out: Use Acti Filter Cleaner
  • Lower the pH to around 7.0: Use Acti pH Minus Powder
  • Carry out shock treatment: Use Acti TOP or Acti HP Granules
  • Use Acti Anti-Mustard Algae
  • Scrub with a brush and filter for 48 hours
  • If you have a sand filter, use Acti Flocculent Sock
