How do I name my dog?

Hello, today I got 3 dogs, and I noticed, everybody in the server I was playing on had named their dogs (with a name tag above the dog's head) So, I was wondering, how do I name my dogs? I've tried looking it up, but it just says " Minecraft mod that can give your dogs' a name!" But it was a MOD that is the problem and I am in a server, so again how do I name my dogs (with the name tag above their heads)? Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

In recent snapshots there have been nametags that can be found in chests in dungeons. You can rename these using an anvil, and right-click on any mob to give that mob the new name. This will also keep renamed hostile mobs from de-spawning. Wiki article: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Nametag If your server is running the latest snapshot, this could be the reason, in which case you just need to go looking for dungeons or find a friendly mod who will give you some. I think it's a feature in the MCMMO plugin, where you can summon dogs that have their owner's labels. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

Yes the server does have MCmmo , But i don't know how to get it, nobody will tell me on the server Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

I have no idea on how to do this. If you want to pump someone on the server for info, then hold a hostage & threaten to kill them. It works in real life...except when it doesn't. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

That summons a "temporary" wolf, it doesn't name it though...I don't see anything that lets you name a wolf in the McMMO wiki... http://mcmmo.wikia.com/wiki/Taming It has to be nametags or named spawn eggs or some other server plug-in besides McMMO that lets you do it, sorry but I just don't know how they are doing it either. First craft a nametag. If you are on creative mode then search "nametag" in the search tab. Second, get an anvil and place it. Third place the nametag in the anvil. Fourth type the name in the rename bar. Fifth have enough XP to do so. And Sixth, take the name tag and right click once on the dog. Enjoy your new named friend!oh yes i hope you are in a server that has nametags. Are you in 1.6.1 (or 1.6.2)? Rollback Post to Revision RollBack
