Chapel Hill, NC English, USA un équivalent en français? In English, it means something along the lines of, "What do you think of that?" (although it's a rhetorical question) and is primarily said in an extremely boasting/arrogant context. example--I have just scored a 100 on my exam and you have scored an 85. I say to you, "How do you like them apples?!?" Moderator note: multiple threads merged to create this one Last edited by a moderator: Jun 28, 2012 JJean-Michel Carrère

Grenoble, France British English It's grammatically wrong, and should rather be 'how do you like those apples?'. As for its meaning in this context it means 'how about that!' - 'qu'est-ce que tu dis de ça!' LLA53

North Adams, MA English USA, Northeast, NYC "How do you like them apples?" is a set phrase used by the ostensible winner of a "one-upsmanship" contest to express his feelings of triumph. See this wiki.youngneil
