How do you make your own sound beeps?
I did answer this once, but deleted my tutorial, because it was…frankly unhelpful and embarrassing. I’m not very skilled at this, and it shows. Essentially, though, you find a sound effect (you can find a huge library of free ones HERE, or for more more 8-bit appropriate ones, there are some free sound effects HERE or HERE just to start you off, or you can make them in a tracker like Sunvox or in a normal audio program using a chiptune soundfont, or use sound effects straight from Undertale).Obviously, you’ll want the sound effect to suggest what the character’s voice would sound like. Undyne’s voice beeps were chosen to make her voice sound lower, maybe even a little hoarse. Alphys were supposed to suggest a high, nasally voice. Maybe you’ll want a bell sound effect for a character with a high, musical voice, or a chainsaw sound effect for a low robotic voice. Things like that.Then you will want to trim the sound effect to way less than a second. You might want to start with a third of a second and adjust it from there. Then, just sync up the voice beeps as you normally would. If it doesn’t sound quite right, you can try adjusting the length slightly or picking a different fraction of the sound effect to use. If the voice beep is a little grating, you can take a couple other parts of the sound effect to make additional voice beeps so you can alternate them. like with mettaton’s voice.I hope this helps! I’ve just been using firealpaca’s resize image feature, tbh. Firealpaca and medibang are free, and im sure gimp or paintnet (also free) or pretty much anything would be able to do the same. I mean, even paint can resize, it just can’t save transparently.Whatever you use, make sure it either constrains the proportions or lets you input the size to resize it to. If a sprite is 17x28 pixels, I make sure the ending size is a multiple of 17 and a multiple of 28 (like 34x56) so it doesn’t come out aliased (“smoothed”) or wonky

UNDERTALE 2nd Anniversary and ALARM CLOCK Development

Well, it has been two years now.
I would like to announce that we have started working on the UNDERTALE ALARM CLOCK APP FOR IPHONE/ANDROID. Me and my friend Chess are working on it in our spare time.
Basically, it’s a barely-functioning Alarm Clock app, where a few of the characters from UNDERTALE will set your alarm for you. (Actually, I highly discourage using it as an Alarm Clock, and take no responsibility for what happens if you do.)
However… it’s not only an Alarm Clock! You can interact with these characters in some simple ways and read a little bit of dialogue from them. This dialogue is pretty similar to the Q&A in terms of tone: Not very important, but pretty fun.
Since it’s just a minor project, development is really slow. There’s no specific release date. I’d say “hopefully 2018,” but if it ends up taking way longer, it wouldn’t be too shocking. No idea on pricing either…
Because there’s no Q&A this year, I’ll leave you with some snippets of character dialogue from the project behind the cut. Hopefully you can figure out which character is which…!
