Curling iron sizes/measurements are given in 'diameters'. There are a lot of wrong answers on this thread. If you know the circumference (distance AROUND the outside a circle - in this case - around the curling iron barrel), then divide that measurement by 3.14. This gives you the DIAMETER of the curling iron. EXAMPLE: I measure around the thick part of the curling iron barrel and get 4 inches, now, I divide that by 3.14 (Pi) and it give me approximately 1.27 which is 1inch and 1/4 quarter. Do you? | Report They are referring to the diameter of the barrel - across the top (as though you were cutting a pie in half) and not around the barrel which would be its circumference.
