The same basic principles still apply to ice resurfacing. The resurfacer needs to wash the ice, shave the ice and leave behind a layer of fresh ice making water.
How It WorksIn the animation, the yellow pipe delivers the wash water to the ice surface and the green pipe is used to collect and return the wash water to the wash water tank. The silver pipe delivers the ice making water to the ice surface, which is spread behind the machine’s conditioner with a towel. The blue screw shaped blades are the horizontal and vertical augers which convey and propel the shaved ice into the snow tank.
