Here is how it went down, or at least how I remembered it: I talked to the receptionist and passed a speechcheck which told me to go to Cachino. I then found him, after a load of searching, in the Brimstone level of Gomorrah. I talked to him and he brushed me off, so I snatched his journal in order to blackmail him. He then gave me two leads, Troike and Clanden. I first checked out Troike who was in the Lower Level. When I was talking to him I passed a speech check which prompted him to melt the stache of guns in the basement. No problems so far right? Well then I got to Clanden. When I first confronted him, he did not really say much. So I went back to Cachino which prompted him to say something along the lines of killing Clanden. But the weird thing was that the quest marker was telling me to talk to Cachino about meeting with the bosses. However, when I talk to Cachino, there is no dialogue option to initiate the meeting, only the questions about Troike and Clanden. So I backtracked to Clanden and made the desicion to just straight up kill him. That only triggered a pop-up saying "Clanden Has Died", and the quest failed. I tried sneak killing him, I tried to have my compainions do it, and I tried standing at the other end of the room and using my frag grenades. The funny thing was that Cachino actually sugested that I kill Clanden if he does not tell you anything. I eventually gave up and carried on with my adventures. During the mid-game phase (choosing what faction you want to end with), I began the quest "For the Republic, Part 2". It had me go and investigate Gamorrah and see if they were opposing the NCR. It first had me talk to the secretary in the NCR Embassy about Gamorrah, who told me to investigate Gamorrah. It basically brought me back to the same predicament I was in initially. This time, I noticed a wall safe behind a dresser in Clanden's room and found some snuff tapes in it. So, I went to Clanden to hopefully confront him about it, however, the only option was to pass a 45 speech check and lead him to this torture chamber. There he figures out what you're up to and tries to kill you. Again, when you kill him, everything fails. So I went to the room before I passed the speech check only to pass a 35 medicine check on a supposedly dead working girl (the girl was alive btw). So I again tried to confront Clanden about it, which only lead to the same ♥♥♥♥. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quest is retarded. Why is it when Cachino tells me to kill Clanden, it only triggers a failure? Is there any noteable fix to this? I have already tried ~resetquest (id), and I don't want to restart the game. Did I miss something? < > Showing 1-5 of 5 comments Grendalcat View Profile View Posts 30 Dec, 2018 @ 7:03pm http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/How_Little_We_KnowYou may have hit the bug referenced in this article, where you can't complete " For the Republic, Part 2" if you don't speak to Liza O'Malley first. This quest seems to have plenty of other bugs, see if this article can help you work around your problem. #1 Higgs_Boson15 View Profile View Posts 30 Dec, 2018 @ 8:24pm Trust me, I've looked at every known walkthrough about this mission. I tried speaking with her again numerous times, I can only ask her about the NCR and the Embassy. However, I'll try to just move Cachino to the main floor using moveto player. It would be unfortunate if you encountered this bug during hardcore mode. #2 Vex Hilarius View Profile View Posts 30 Dec, 2018 @ 9:27pm You try YUP? #3 Higgs_Boson15 View Profile View Posts 30 Dec, 2018 @ 9:37pm I figured it out, just sneak kill Nero and Big Sal which completes the quest without failing it. It's crude but there was really no other way out. #4 kidsseeghxst View Profile View Posts 22 May, 2024 @ 11:21am this is stupid asf #5 < > Showing 1-5 of 5 comments Per page: 1530 50 Fallout: New Vegas > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 30 Dec, 2018 @ 5:51pmPosts: 5 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
