Or do they never stop working? We have Magic Bands from 3 years ago and I’m wondering if they are still going to work or if I should buy new ones. Thanks!” Welcome to planDisney, Lauren! As a MagicBand addict, I was happy to see your question! Ever since MagicBands were introduced at Walt Disney World in 2013, I have loved to order a new one for each vacation “home”. To me, getting that box in the mail was the true start of each magical Disney trip. That being said, I have more MagicBands than I could ever wear; we even have a wreath of MagicBands hanging on the wall of our home. It is perfectly acceptable to reuse an old MagicBand on your next trip. The official word from Walt Disney World is that the battery life of a band is expected to be about 2 years. However, I personally have older ones that are still going strong! So, bring your MagicBands and try it! If they fail to work, you can always use the MyDisneyExperience mobile app for everything from opening your resort room door to entering the theme parks! Should you decide that you’d like to get new MagicBands (and there are some super cute ones available right now), you can purchase them for a discount through your MyDisneyExperience once you have your resort reservation booked. You can also browse a large selection at shopDisney online. Once you are at Walt Disney World, you can also purchase a new band in many of the retail locations throughout the property.
