The main adventure in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has seven chapters, and depending on how a player approaches these, they can typically take around 60 to 70 hours of game time for the average first-time player. Compare that with the recent game Triangle Strategy and the roughly 50 hours of gameplay to beat its story, and it's easy to say that the main campaign length of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is fairly standard fare for an upper-end JRPG.

A fast player who only focuses on the story and nothing else can typically trim this time estimation down to around 40 to 50 hours. Others who take their time with it and explore wouldn't have too much trouble reaching even the 100-hour mark.

The vast majority of content found in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 comes from outside the main story, so getting the full 100% completion is significantly longer. There are plenty of side-quests to work through, as with most other JRPGs, but that's just the start.

One of the most difficult and time-consuming things that completionists will have to tackle includes finding and befriending 19 Heroes around the game. Heroes replace the Blades mechanic from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as a way to teach new classes to members of the party. However, just finding each Hero isn't enough, as a lot of work has to go into upgrading each of them.

Another major stumbling block is the 140 unique monsters spread across the game that need to be defeated. Some are very hard to find, and others are ridiculously strong. This portion of the game alone can add hours and hours to a completionist's total playtime.

Put it all together, and the average time to fully complete Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is typically estimated as around 150 to 160 hours, though some are reporting that it can take well over 200 hours. Given the fact that an Expansion Pass is also adding new content to the game over time, this number will only continue to go up.
