How Long Does Juvederm® Last?

Dermal fillers have become a popular way to rejuvenate or enhance your appearance. The Juvederm® family of fillers provides a safe, customizable way to restore lost facial volume or add volume to places like the lips. 

What is Juvederm®?

Juvederm® fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a popular ingredient in skin care treatments because it attracts moisture and holds it in the skin. The water-attracting properties of hyaluronic acid enhance Juvederm®’s plumping action. Because the body produces this molecule naturally, most people do not react to Juvederm®. The entire Juvederm® family contains different formulations of hyaluronic acid that make them more effective for different areas of the face. 

How Long Does Juvederm® Last?

Each formulation of Juvederm® has its own lifespan, with more dense formulas lasting longer than thinner, softer ones. The constant motion of areas like the lips causes the body to break down Juvederm® more quickly than in less mobile areas like the cheeks. 

Juvederm® Voluma

This dermal filler adds volume to the cheeks and other areas of the mid-face. These areas can lose volume as we age, so restoring this lost volume can restore more youthful contours. This durable filler can last up to two years. 

Juvederm® Volbella

Its flexible formula makes this an ideal dermal filler for lips. This dermal filler can give you results if you want plumper lips that look and move naturally and never slow you down. It lasts up to a year. 

Juvederm® Vollure

This filler treats moderate to severe lines and wrinkles, including those around the mouth and in the nasolabial creases. It can last up to 18 months. This filler is intermediate in thickness between Voluma and Volbella, making it a resilient but still flexible option.

What Results Will I See With Juvederm®?

You will see immediate volume enhancement in the treated areas that will continue to improve for several days. Your Derma-Tech provider will discuss your desired results before treatment and will choose the right Juvederm® formula for you. Depending on the formula and location, you can expect your results to last anywhere from one to two years. 

Is There Any Downtime With Juvederm®?  

You can go back to your regular activities immediately after Juvederm® treatment. You might have some minor bruising or soreness, but this will resolve quickly. People refer to Juvederm® as a “lunchtime” procedure since you can go on your lunch break and return to work on time. 

Who is a Good Candidate for Juvederm®?
