9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:37am One year of game time takes about 20-30 hours. There is an objective incentive at the end of your second year (40-60 hours) but its not really required and you can play the game in endless mode at your own pace.*edit: there isn't a specific mode called endless. but you can keep playing your game even after the two year 'rating incentive' and play at your own pace. 9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:46am It'll probably take me around 200 hours to complete everything there is. #5

9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:56am Does the two year 'ating incentive only count towards your farm or are other things included? #6

9 Mar, 2016 @ 1:09am I think my first "playthrough" ( to the end of second year ) was 45 hoursIf you're a completionist, you'd probably easily hit 60+ If you don't mind not having a goal anymore, the game goes on infinitely. #7

9 Mar, 2016 @ 1:26am So the second year is the end of the game no matter what? As in what if you don't do all the objectives right away? Last edited by Sweet Tea; 9 Mar, 2016 @ 1:28am #8

9 Mar, 2016 @ 1:45am Okay thank god.. cause I wanted to take my time with the game. So the story will still play out and everything? #11

9 Mar, 2016 @ 1:48am Other than than point/scoring/achievement thing (which is purely a meta concern and doesn't affect gameplay itself), nothing is timed/limited/missable.At most, there are seasonal-related things that you can miss temporarily (seasonal events, not growing certain crops, not catching certain fish, etc.), but you can always do them the year after. #12

9 Mar, 2016 @ 2:32am Apparently things are changing in the next update (spoilers) and the 2 year thing will be repeatable, so now time is even less of an issue. As for how long the game is, I just checked my save file: ingame save says 48h (Steam says I've played 70h). I just finished the first week of spring in my second year, so I'm about halfway through (if we count the first evaluation as the "official" one). #14

9 Mar, 2016 @ 4:25am Well, most stuff is seen after 25h, after 40h the first year should be done, so after 120h you will complete the story.Hopefully there will be some nice mods until than #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 15 comments Per page: 1530 50 Stardew Valley > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 9 Mar, 2016 @ 12:35amPosts: 15

Originally posted by Stardew Pancake:So the second year is the end of the game no matter what? As in what if you don't do all the objectives right away? The review after the second year is basically just a score thing related to achievements. It has no other impact on the game. It happens no matter what you do, and you can keep playing for as long as you like afterwards. If you don't mind considerable spoilers, feel free to check out the wiki article[stardewvalleywiki.com] about it. #10

And besides the little evaluation, you can take your time for everything. Do you want to spend 10 years to restore the Community Center? Nothing will stop you from doing that.
