Anonymous answered Only 1.09 calories per jumping jack. You should do 200 per day and then you burned about 210 calories. I do at least 200 sit ups per day and I usually do more. Once I did 552. I lost 10lbs by doing that. I hope this helps!
Anonymous answered I've been doing 1,000 jumping jacks every morning when I wake up before I eat breakfast and I've lost 60 pounds. I ate well though and not much around 1500 calories a day mostly soups with low sodium and spooned out the potatoes. I seemed to be dropping 1 pound every day from maintaining a good diet and jumping jacks in the morning and drinking lots of water. All the weight dropped easily at the start but it went from losing a pound a day to losing a pound in two days when I weight around 180. In 4 months I went from 232 pounds to 170 true story. I took a break from jumping jacks and I've been weight lifting and I weigh 180 now 3 months later. Jumping jacks do work. When I first started I could only do 200 before I had to stop and take a break. After I caught my breath I did another 200, another 200, etc till I reached 1000. In a week I could do 500 in a row before I took a break. Now I can do an endless amount without stopping. I'm male 6'2I've heard 1,000 Jumping jacks is around 400 calories.
Anonymous answered I have been doing about 300 or so a day and regular daily activity and it has slimmed my legs and I have lost a few pounds. I think they work better than most.
Elle Phillips answered In the last few months I've worked up to doing 100 jumping jacks once or twice a day and lost a couple of pounds. I'm now trying to do 300 to 400 a day (3 to 4 sets of 100 throughout the day) and it feels really good. Am hoping it'll help me take off a few extra pounds in the next month or so. My diet has always been steady at 1500 or less per day. I think jumping jacks are great if you can't get a gym membership or access to exercise equipment. They really hurt at first!
Anonymous answered Bottom line: Not many at all. The specific answer depends on your body weight and level of fitness. I'll use myself as an example. I'm 180 lbs, 5'10 (yes slightly overweight but working on it). If I were to do jumping jacks for 5 minutes (about 300 jumping jacks or 1 jumping jack a second) I would only burn 56 calories. Using the average person who weighs less than me the calories burned would be less than that. At one jumping jack per second it would take 15 seconds for 15 jumping jacks. Doing a little math: 56cal/5min = 11.2 cal per min - 11.2cal/60sec = .186 cal per sec .186 x 15 = 2.8 cal Therefore 15 jumping jacks for me = 2.8 calories. Like I said, not much.
Anonymous answered I read online before that each jumping jack equaled a little over 1 calorie. I would like to believe this is true considering I have been doing 2 or 3 thousand per week. It's seems realistic b/c it's a total body workout. Good Luck...
Anonymous answered Jumping jacks will help you burn some calories but not many. You should go for something more active, like swimming is a great way to lose calories. As far as sit ups go they Do NOT help you burn calories. They help you gain muscle.
Steve DeVenney answered Any form of exercises will burn calories. Its not so much what you do but the length of time and how long you do them. Depending on your level of physical fitness and what you are trying to do I would suggest walking. I know it takes up a lot of time but it is the best way to burn "fat" and/or "calories. I hope this helps.. Best of luck
Anonymous answered I tried various exercises with a heart monitor/calorie counter on and it took about 25 jumping jacks to lose 1 calorie, but from there my heart rate was up and the calories added up faster and faster!
Anonymous answered Well you probably burnt a few hundred calories, but the good thing about exercise is it stimulates your functions, including the metabolism, which is important for burning fat and calories. You really want to do the best exercises to get your heart rate up.
james carstensen answered Well the answer is about 400 calories-about the same as any cardio like running, it's really a better mix to keep your heart going when your legs are tired of running or cycling and you continue (non-stop) doing jumping jacks and go back to your other cardio, maintaining a higher heart rate for 30 minutes a day (non stop no matter what the exercise is) is the most important part of high calorie burn and fat loss ect...
Anonymous answered Great question! Whenever I am performing an exercise and do not know the answer, I use a site called www.FitClick.com. This site provides a calories burned calculator; you type in the exercise and then amount of minutes and it will provide you with an amount of calories burned. Head on over and type in your jumping jacks! Good luck!
Anonymous answered I do not know. It doesnt matter. The more you try to focus on your weight the more your stressed, which makes you lose weight slower!! Maybe you should get rid of all your scales.. You'll lose weight faster!
Anonymous answered I did about 2000 jumping jacks in the morning and in the afternoon I did about 1500 jumping jacks, and in the evening I did 1000 jumping jacks.
