Members do not see this ad. Cliffs AP bio says there is 1 centromere per chromosome.. but after a duplicated chromosome splits, the chromatids are considered chromosomes because each chromatid has 1 centromere. 1 chromosome (w/ 1 centromere) --> 1 chromatid (w 1 centromere) + 1 chromatid (w/ 1 centromere)?? Remember, during interphase there is S phase. This is when the DNA will be duplicated again and regenerate the other half of the centromere. Thus allowing the cycle to repeat. Upvote 0 Downvote
