Who is meteorologist Dylan Dreyer?

Born August 2, 1981, Dylan Dreyer is a television meteorologist for NBC News who often rotates with Sheinelle Jones in the Orange Room on Weekend Today and MSNBC on weekends.

She also frequently appears on TODAY on weekdays as a weather correspondent and as a fill-in for Al Roker and Carson Daly.

Before joining NBC in 2012, Dreyer worked at the now-former NBC station WHDH in Boston, Massachusetts since 2007.

Dreyer has been married to Brian Fichera – a writer and producer known for Amanda Wakes Up and Today – since 2012.

How many children does meteorologist Dylan Dreyer have?

Dreyer and her husband have three sons, Russell ‘Rusty’, Oliver, and Calvin.

Not much is known about Dreyer’s children because they often stay out of the spotlight, however, the beloved meteorologist often updates fans if something happens.

In November 2022, Dreyer revealed her two young sons, Rusty and Oliver, were rushed to the hospital with a terrifying respiratory virus the month prior.

As the pair battled Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), they went through a bad cough, high fever, and ear infection, before recovering.

Then, in May 2023, she revealed that Calvin was diagnosed with celiac disease after experiencing frequent stomach pain.

Some often compare celiac disease to a wheat allergy or gluten intolerance, but according to Dr. Lisa Fahey, co-director of the Celiac Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, they are not the same.

Unlike wheat allergy or gluten intolerance, “celiac disease is an autoimmune condition,” Fahey explained to TODAY.com.

“In this condition, eating gluten triggers an immune response, and that can create a variety of symptoms for patients.”

She added: “Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition where the body’s fighting against itself.”

TODAY.com notes that celiac disease can begin at any time in life and some of the common symptoms include vomiting, belly pain, diarrhea, bloating, and constipation.

Did Dreyer suffer a miscarriage prior to her second son’s birth?

Dreyer dealt with heartbreak after suffering a miscarriage before the birth of her second son.

In a 2019 interview on TODAY, Dreyer recounted the experience of realizing she’d had a miscarriage and then having to put on a brave face for her work on the show.

“I’m devastated, and I have to go to work on The Today Show and be happy and smiling and pretend like nothing’s wrong,” she explained.

Eventually, her co-workers realized there was something wrong and she confided in them.
