Irons without thermostats have some disadvantages: the iron heats up much more slowly. Electricity consumption is higher. Due to its low power, the iron cools down quickly when ironing.

  1. If you slightly scorch the material while ironing, wet the stain with a solution of boric acid, then rinse in water at room temperature.
  2. Stains from a hot iron on white fabrics are removed with a mixture consisting of 0.5 tbsp. water and a few drops of ammonia.
  3. Wrinkles on trousers will last longer if you wipe them from the inside with a bar of soap and then iron them through a damp cloth.
  4. To prevent the iron from sticking to the laundry, its heated sole is wiped with paraffin.
