RocketFoot Can someone tell me if my 5.7 Hemi has 8 or 16 spark plugs? Just curious... #1 · Mar 29, 2014 Can someone tell me if my 5.7 Hemi has 8 or 16 spark plugs? Just curious... Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Mar 29, 2014 I believe it uses two plugs per cylinder, for a total of 16. #3 · Mar 29, 2014 Yes sir, sixteen is the magic number. #4 · Mar 29, 2014 16 is what I thought...but my coworker has a 2014 Ram with 5.7 Hemi and he swears it only uses 8 plugs! It's a bit of a stand off, LOL! Anyone know where I can get 5.7 Hemi spec sheet or something? #6 · Mar 29, 2014 With the cover off you will see eight coil packs. Under each coil pack are two plugs. So two per cylinder equals sixteen in total. Just head over to allpar.com for engine specs. No way the 5.7 HEMI in the 13's would be any different. 0 Reply #5 · Mar 29, 2014 Just go to Dodge web site and download owners manual pdf and you will have info you need. #7 · Mar 29, 2014 The only difference between the '13's & the 14's is the 2014 comes with 100,000 mile change interval platinum plugs where as the 2013's have the 30K copper plugs. There are 16 plugs in both. I am told that after you get the cover off, 4 of them are somewhat of a royal p.i.a. to change, even when equipped with the necessary special socket/extender. I'll learn how, as the stealership charges a fortune to change them. I plan on putting the platinum plugs in my 2013 when I change them. #8 · Mar 30, 2014 Old Joe, Is it possible the late 2013 build has platinum plugs? I had a mechanic check AllData and he told me my Hemi has platinum plugs. It was built in July 2013 #12 · Mar 31, 2014 Good question...mine was also built late in 2013. I would love to have 100K plugs! LOL! 0 Reply #9 · Mar 30, 2014 I have a 2013 and the owners manual says 100k for plug change. Bought it last may. Oh yeah, 16 plugs. #10 · Mar 30, 2014 Just ordered the plugs yesterday. Going to tackle the plugs this week. Hopefully it won't be to much of a pita #11 · Mar 30, 2014 I like an all rubber tool or even a piece of hose to start threading the spark plugs in & removing them from tight spots It slides right over the porcelain, several companies make them http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wmr-w85000/overview/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf9BXdO6G98 I buy my plugs from Rockauto, best price that i could find for OEM plugs Insert Quotes Post Reply
