Generally, butter comes in 1 pound packages, with 4 sticks of butter that are 1/4 pound each. This is equilivant to 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons. The butter that I buy has tablespoon markings on the paper wrapping to make it easy to measure.

10 tbsp. + 2 tsp.

For any baking conversions - google is awesome. You can type in the google search tablespoons to 2/3 cups butter and a chart pops up.

The answers above are correct, but i'd like to add that the conversion is 16 Tablespoons or 48 Teaspoons to a Cup. If you keep those measurements in mind, or (if absent-minded, as i am), written down in the front of your cookbook, it will make it easy for future conversions.

It depends on the stick of butter. The standard sticks are changing. The brand of butter I like the most now comes in eight sticks (four tablespoons each) instead of the standard four sticks (eight tablespoons each) per pound of butter.Advertisement

If you look at the individual wrappers on each stick you'll see them marked with tablespoon, cup and weight measures. :-)
