can you clarify what you mean when you say siblings share 33-50% of DNA, and its not common for more than 50% relationship? Most places say on average the DNA relationship is around 50% for siblings, with a range of 40-60%.
Why would it be likely to have less DNA in common with siblings than 50%, and not more? Can you share your sources on this?

Hello...my youngest brother's Ancestry DNA come up with me as close family - 1st cousin - 1783cM I 26% shared DNA.... My older brother hasn't done an Ancestry DNA test
Could this mean my younger brother may not be my full brother ..I have no reason to believe he isn't. Thanks

Hi!! Recently my sister and I did Ancestory dna. The results came back that we share 1,761 cM across 50 segments with 25% shared dna. Does this make us half siblings?? The reason I ask is that when I look at our shared matches it is only on our mother's side. I do not see any shared matches on our dad's side. Would this give us different fathers???? Thank you

Hi Jackie, Thank you for your question, and I understand why you would definitely want to understand more about the shared DNA between yourself and your sister. You might find the following article helpful, especially the part about examining X-DNA shared between sisters with the same father: https://whoareyoumadeof.com/blog/full-sibling-or-a-half-sibling-dna-details/ Best of luck to you, Mercedes

I have 1 older full sibling , and 2 older half siblings (both same father, different mothers)- and I share around 2,000cM with each of them. My father recently had another daughter with another woman, and I only share 62cM with her.
How is this possible? Is this normal?
She is 4 years old but took the DNA test when she was 2 years old.
Thank you!

@Thomas, Most likely the 4 year old is not from your father. But only comparing his DNA with hers you can be sure.
