TikTok live shows became popular throughout the pandemic when artists were no longer able to perform to crowds, so instead they took to the app to stream their performances live. 

The live shows have now become a way for creators on the platform to engage with their audience, or for some like the infamous Ed Matthews, to drop ‘loose game’.

Fans are now able to ‘gift’ their favourite creators all sorts of different things, from cowboy hats to roses, and most importantly lions.

But what are TikTok gifts, how do they benefit creators, and why is the lion so sought-after?

What Are TikTok Gifts? 

Each gift that viewers can purchase is equal to a different amount and will deposit money into the creators account.

However, viewers are only able to purchase gifts with the in-app currency of TikTok coins, which are available to purchase with real money. 

The least amount of coins you can buy is 40, and that will cost you just 49p, but this differs drastically from the maximum amount of 16,500 coins, which will cost you a pretty penny at £220! 

How Much Is The TikTok Lion Gift Worth?

There are well over a hundred different gifts that adoring fans can give to creators, ranging from roses that cost just one coin, to lions that, well…we’ll get to that!

Two of the most expensive gifts on the platform are the ‘Lion’ and the ‘TikTok Universe’.

For a ridiculous 30,000 coins you can purchase a lion, which will cost you £330.

Even more expensive than that is the TikTok universe gift, which will cost users well over £400 to give to a creator.

It’s safe to say TikTok has become its own new world, and we’re just living in it.
