Vietnamese Make question for the underlined part in each sentence How ...? A dozen eggs is 25,000 dong. The key is "How much is a dozen eggs?". Can I ask why it is "is", but not "are" in here? cidertree

English (Ireland) Dozen is a singular unit, even though it consists of 12 of something. Is one dozen enough? Are two dozen enough? E

Korean How about "a dozen eggs cost/costs 10 dollars"? Should I use the singular "costs" based on the explanations above? It sounds odd to me because a dozen eggs = 12 eggs. heypresto

South East England English - England You can think of 'a dozen' as a singular unit, and say 'costs', or as twelve individual items, and say 'cost'. You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Bluesky LinkedIn WhatsApp Email Share Link
