Cole Pippo Webmaster and Partner at Independent Golf Reviews The Top Golf rates will vary by location, date and time.
On average, TopGolf will cost $30 / hour during off-peak hours and $60 / hour during peak hours.
If you go with the maximum amount of people (6) for 2 hours at peak hours it will cost about $20 per person.
Peak hours are Friday – Sunday from 5 PM to close.
Off-peak hours are Monday – Thursday before 12 PM.

Basically, TopGolf prices are higher if you plan to golf on the weekend, when competition is fiercer and one more people want to enjoy this novel form of golf. Prices are cheaper if you plan to golf during the week.
Price Will Vary By TopGolf Location
Some TopGolf locations will cost more than others.
Locations in popular and high-cost areas such as Las Vegas and Miami will cost the most.
Smaller markets or suburban areas like Tucson, AZ and Boise, ID typically have lower rates, with off-peak hours as low as $25 per hour.
The most expensive TopGolf location is Las Vegas at $94 / hour during peak times.
The least expensive location is Oklahoma City at $56 / hour during peak times.

Time of the day:
Least Expensive: Open until 12 PM
Middle: 12 PM to 5 PM
Most Expensive: 5PM to close
Day of the week:
Least Expensive: Monday to Thursday
Most Expensive: Friday to Sunday

How Much is TopGolf per person?
TopGolf allows you to have 6 people in one bay, but they do not charge per person.
If you split it among 6 people, it will cost at least $5 per hour per person, to at most $12 per hour per person.
Most people will rent a bay for at least 2 hours so you can expect to pay $20 per person for the night on a weekend.
You should also be prepared to spend some money on food and drinks. 🙂
Can you bring your own clubs to TopGolf?
Yes, you can bring your own clubs to TopGolf but we think there are specific clubs you should bring to TopGolf and certain clubs you should avoid bringing if you care about them.
Wedges and Short Irons are perfect for the harder TopGolf balls but expensive Drivers and Fairway Woods should be left at home or in the car.
The materials manufacturers construct golf clubs with these days are durable, but they are not designed to hit balls as hard as the ones used in TopGolf locations.
TopGolf balls have lower quality materials, an internal tracking chip, and are designed to be hit by non-golfers with “TopGolf clubs”.
This means they pose a very significant risk to damaging your own golf clubs if you bring them.
While we all want to show off to our friends and family just how far we can smash our new driver or if we can reach the back fence, damaging our expensive and often personalized equipment is NOT worth the risk!
Irons and Wedges are harder to damage than most of the clubs we own.
They’re primarily made of hard steel that’s difficult to harm.
You’ll still receive different feedback than you’re used to when hitting nicer range balls or premium balls but they are at less risk of permanent damage.
TopGolf Explained
Think about TopGolf as more of a “bowling alley for golfers” or a “mini golf” adjacent activity.
You’re mostly there for the entertainment of a group of people, you aren’t there to have a “serious match” between competitors, and you aren’t limited to small group sizes depending on how many people and friends are with you, meaning big groups can have a fun time.
Imagine an indoor or fenced golf arena with big, glowing targets to drive at.
You relax in climate controlled hitting bays that fit up to six people. Each hitting bay is positioned near a driving range, plus gives access to great food and a beverage menu.
You and your friends or family members can sit around and watch each other try to hit balls down the range at those targets. The farther the target, and the closer your balls land, the more points you earn! That’s topgolf.
In many ways, topgolf is an accessible, easier to enjoy version of golf. Instead of trying to score by hitting golf balls across sandpits or deep lakes, you can just hit your golf balls down a controlled range and have fun!
Even better, topgolf doesn’t require a ton of skill. If you’re a beginner at swinging a golf club around, topgolf will be fun and exciting. Even if you’re terrible, you’ll still have a good time since you’ll be able to eat and drink while watching other people try to beat your score.
But what if you’re a golf aficionado? In that case, you’ll still have a good time because topgolf represents a novel challenge. Remember, you don’t necessarily try to hit your golf ball into a hole, nor do you go down the topgolf range. Instead, each ball is hit only once. Your score is tallied up based on where the ball lands on the topgolf range.
Summary
TopGolf is a great, inexpensive way to spend some time with friends and socialize.
Think about TopGolf as more of a “bowling alley for golfers” or a “mini golf” adjacent activity.
You’re mostly there for the entertainment of a group of people, you aren’t there to have a “serious match” between competitors.
Most of the money will be spent on food and drinks, and the golf is there for some light entertainment.
You and your friends or family members can sit around and watch each other try to hit balls down the range at those targets. The farther the target, and the closer your balls land, the more points you earn! That’s TopGolf.
If your ultimate goal of hitting balls every time is to get better at the game, TopGolf likely isn’t your best driving range location.
It will also be much more expensive than a typical driving range.
In short, TopGolf can cost you as little as $30 or so for an hour by yourself or several hundred dollars for a few hours TopGolfing with your friends.
It all depends on what time, day and location you go to.
