Q: How much memory does a 2 hour movie take up, I have a 32 gb micro sd card, how many movies will it record to watch later and not need wi fi ?

There is no perfect answer to this question, as audio and video are stored in compressed form. The source material may be high or low quality (therefore larger or smaller in size) and the type of compression may be more or less efficient. Very roughly, using the most common video compression type (MPEG), a 1-hour Standard-definition video occupies 1 to 2 gigabytes; HD video 4 to 5. There are new, more efficient formats around, so I assume the latest "4K" video will occupy less than four times the space of a conventional HD recording.So you ought to be able to put 8 SD or 2 HD 2-hour movies on your card, but maybe not a single 4K one.BTW: No fear of "confusing" your computer; You would be amazed (I am) at how many billions of such operations occur every SECOND in your computer or smartphone with not a SINGLE error. Really!One caution for you: 32 gB is the limit in size of "SDHC" (High Capacity SD) devices. If you want to get a larger card, like 64 or 128 gB, make sure your device is capable of using "SDXC" (Extended-capacity SD) cards. Just by size, it should hold about 6-7 movies each. However, I think there may be an issue in trying to watch a movie off the sd card if multiple movies are on it. Your computer may get confused if multiple "pointers" each movies has to run a dvd, are on the same source. I hope this helps. Of course nothing works as well as trial by error.. Or 1 Ultra resolution video & sound (ie 4K & 7.1 surround) of 3 hour racing documentaries, Lord of the Rings (director's cut), etc..
